I learned to read at 42 years old
I learned to read a lot better at the age of 42 years old by attending a literary program in Orange County. I struggled to mask and found ways around her inability to read well. I quite school in an 11th grade, when exhausted by humiliation. I went to work as a cashier at a small grocery store. Then I got marry at the age of 18 years old and became a mother, and had my second child at the age of 22 years old. I always thought I would just say home and take care of my children... I did not read to my children once they started to read in school because I was afraid they would find out that I was not reading the right word....
